Rainy Isle of Skye Wedding

Rainy Isle of Skye Wedding

A wild wedding at Sligachan

Mary & Ryan were married on the Isle of Skye in some of the wildest weather I’ve photographed in Scotland, but not once did I hear them complain or worry. Instead, they put enjoyed every moment of it. This day was an adventure for them, and it didn’t matter what was thrown their way, they embraced it with open arms.

Mary & Ryan got ready at the Blackhouse – a beautiful light-filled cottage with stunning views of Sligachan. Despite the horizontal rain and torrential wind, Mary & Ryan held their ceremony outside. The pouring rain created an unforgettable atmosphere and a story for everyone to tell in years to come. Later in the evening, they walked over to the nearby Sligachan Hotel for their reception and delicious local food.

The talented team of vendors and small businesses included: Rona the Humanist | The Skye Piper | Phohm | Cakes by Fiona | Christina Wu | Tartan Blanket Co

The following Morning – The Quiraing & Fairy Glen

The morning after the wedding, we woke up early to visit the famous Quiraing at sunrise – what a perfect reward it was after a day of sideways rain! The early alarm was worth it to be able to enjoy the landscape to ourselves. The morning finished at the Fairy Glen – a charming little spot that always makes me feel like I’m walking through a real-life fairytale.
