Loch Coruisk Wedding on the Isle of Skye

As lovers of outdoor adventures, Georgia & Zac fell in love with the idea of an elopement on the Isle of Skye. They chose Loch Coruisk as the location for their wedding – a secluded loch surrounded by dramatic mountains of the Black Cuillin, which is best accessed by boat from the tiny fishing village of Elgol.

Georgia & Zac chose Skye Red Fox Retreat as their base for the adventure, and Lynn from Skye Beauty took care of Georgia’s hair and makeup. A last-minute change of plans saw a local fisherman step in to take us across to Loch Coruisk. This slight change of plans turned out to be one of the highlights of the adventure, with the rustic boat adding to the sense of adventure and its captain made an excellent host and tour guide of this beautiful location. As we drew near the bay, we spotted some seals sunbathing on the rocks – an unexpected surprise!

We were all in awe of the landscape when we arrived at Loch Coruisk. We felt particularly grateful to have such a unique location all to ourselves. Georgia & Zac did some adventurous clambering over rocks and a river crossing; however, their efforts were most definitely rewarded with the spectacular backdrop for their ceremony! They said their vows and did a handfasting ceremony, led by Neil Lynch, surrounded by mountains. Afterwards, they took some time to soak in the views and a enjoy picnic in the sun.

Georgia & Zac headed back to Skye Red Fox Retreat to watch the sunset and finish the day with dinner and a drink by the fire pit outside whilst soaking in the magical views of the isle in the evening light.
