Lizzie & Adam | Scotland Destination Wedding

This is the story of Lizzie & Adam and their Wedding day in Scotland. I’ve been looking forward to sharing these photos with the world, but also a little bit worried about how I was going to put a few words together that would accurately describe this day. Set in the small country town of Liddel Water where Lizzie grew up, these two were married on the 25th anniversary of Lizzie’s mum passing away. In their speeches they noted that they wanted to turn this event into something positive that they could now celebrate together for the rest of their lives. Despite the constant rain and flooding lead up to the day, their ceremony took place in the sunshine next to the Liddel River on their property, and the reception in a 300 year old barn where Lizzie’s parents were also married, I knew well before the day came around that this was going to be something truly incredible. It was inspiring to watch this wedding come together with the help of family and friends and having the the supplies and decorations sourced from the local community. From handmade confetti to the floral arch that Lizzie & Adam were married under – everything was built and created with love. As I chatted to guests throughout the day, I met people who had flown in from the US, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Cambodia – clearly Lizzie & Adam are truly special to a lot of people. Towards the end of the night, everyone joined together outside to release 25 lanterns to commemorate Lizzie’s mum – I can say that quite a few of us (including me!) had some tears in our eyes. I can’t thank you both enough for flying me to the other side of the world to document such a genuine celebration of love and happiness – it’s a day that I will always hold close to my heart. x
